About the Event
Mozambique is a country rich in natural resources, but its turbulent history has kept its people in poverty. After gaining independence from Portuguese rule in 1975, Mozambique was plunged into 15 years of civil war where at least 4 million people were displaced and resulted in the death of perhaps another million more! A peace agreement was finally brokered and took effect from 15 Oct 1992. After a 2-year transition to democracy overseen by the UN Peacekeeping Force, Mozambique opened its doors to the outside world.
10 years later in 2003, Anthony & Jennie, with a child in tow and another on the way arrived in Mozambique. They served in Mozambique for the past 20 years – 17 of which were spent in a rural village living among an unreached people group in which there was not a single believer of Christ.
